Carl Gose, Owner- I’ve been working in bike shops for more of my life, than I haven’t, if that makes sense. At twelve my parents employed me to vacuum, clean and do other “dirty” work in their store—Spoke and Edge Sports in Gillette Wyoming. By the age of fourteen I was assembling BMX and other kids' bikes. By sixteen I was a full-time employee and I would get out of school at noon as a product of the On-The-Job-Training program. I left my parents store at the age of twenty and came to Laramie for college. It wasn’t long before I found myself working in another bicycle shop part time as I worked towards a degree. As I started to feel more at home working with bikes and cyclists, I gradually fazed school out and became a full-time bike shop employee again. I would take the occasional class here and there, but I definitely wasn’t driven to succeed in school. Approximately three years of servicing Laramie's cycling community came to an end when differences forced me to find work elsewhere. I then went to work for a company called SeaWest, a service company who maintains and repairs the wind turbines by Arlington. What a cool job. Working on industrial wind turbines two hundred feet above the ground was pretty outstanding, but I knew I needed to finish what I started at the University. After a year the job served its’ purpose and allowed me to go back to school. It was around this time that I was introduced to the University of Wyoming Cycling Club and a whole new group of really great friends. Then Dwayne Meadows came to me with an opportunity to take his place as “the man that helps Mike.” Since then, things have escaladed to wonderful levels. In December of 2004 I graduated with my Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology and Physiology, and a Minor in Entomology. The summer of 2006 brought many changes to my life. Mike decided to move his family to Lander where much of his immediate family resides. This meant the shop was for sale. On August 29, 2006 we officially closed the deal and started doing business as "Pedal House, LLC." I look forward to serving the cycling community of Laramie for the many years to come and appreciate all those who truly understand what it means to respect what a bicycle has to offer an individual and their surrounding community.
